Pages and sections, explained

A page is one part of a website, like a page in a brochure. People usually move between pages by clicking buttons or menu items such as “About Us” or “Contact.”

A one-page website puts everything on one long page. Visitors scroll down to read about your business, see your services, and find your contact information. It works well when you only need to share a small amount of information. It can be perfect for a personal or vanity page, a memorial page, a gardener, or any small business that wants a simple place on the internet.

A three-page website spreads the information across three separate pages. For example:

  1. Home: Introduces your business.
  2. Services: Explains what you offer.
  3. Contact: Shows people how to reach you.

A five-page website gives you more space to explain your business. For example:

  1. Home: Welcomes visitors and introduces your business.
  2. About Us: Tells your story.
  3. Services: Explains what you offer.
  4. Our Work: Shows photos or examples of past projects.
  5. Contact: Includes your contact details or a form.

All three options are one website. The difference is how many separate pages visitors can open. More pages give you room for more information, but a small business may only need one page.

What is a section on a website?

A section is one main part of a page. For example, a one-page gardening website might have a welcome section, an about-the-gardener section, a list of services, photos of past work, and contact details. That would be five sections, all on one page.

Visitors scroll down to move from one section to the next. Each section groups related information together, making the page easy to read. A section can contain a heading, several paragraphs, and photos—it doesn’t mean that every paragraph or photo counts separately.

Good work.
Happy neighbors.

A few words from people I’ve worked with.

“I was just on the website. It’s off the hook — the best ever! I really like Chris’s design for the website and the clever writing; it’s quite amazing. Thank you, Chris, for all your beautiful work.”

“We totally like it — it’s amazing. I think it’s going to be a wonderful tool for us; we are excited. Everything looks great with the web page. Thanks again for the beautiful webpage, Chris — genius.”

“Chris McCall created a website for our small nonprofit including a link for buying tickets for a fundraiser. I thought this would take weeks, not days, but Chris proved me wrong. I thought the fundraiser ticket purchase form would have very limited choices, but Chris found ways to expand those to include making a cash donation if the user wasn’t attending the event. We are so happy with his work!”

A person you can talk to

Hi, I’m Chris.

I’ve lived in Panama since 2004. My path has taken me from photography and motion pictures to stained glass, software, and designing and building Rancho de Caldera. Black Rock Web Design brings that creative and technical experience to your website.

You don’t have to know the technical language. Tell me your idea in your own words, and we’ll start there.

A little more about me ↗
A few fair questions

Wondering
about something?

You can always just ask. A conversation is a good place to begin.

Let’s talk ↗
Is it really free to see my own site?

Yes. We agree on a suitable project and the material needed, and I build a preview around you. There is no deposit and no obligation to buy. You pay for the website only if you approve it. Domain, hosting, or other paid services are discussed separately before you commit.

Do I need to have all the writing ready?

No. Bring the basics: what you do, who it’s for, how to reach you, and any photos or text you already have. I can help draft and improve the words from your notes. You check the facts and approve the wording. We’ll agree on the amount of writing needed before starting.

What if I don’t want to buy the preview?

That’s completely OK. Tell me and we’ll leave it there. You won’t be charged for the free preview. The website files and publishing handover come with the purchase.

What happens after I approve it?

You pay the agreed package price. We arrange launch and handover, with the domain and hosting in your name and your website files and logins supplied to you. Third-party domain and hosting fees remain separate. You can choose who helps with your site in the future.

Can you make a personal website or a Spanish site?

Yes. Personal pages, portfolios, weddings, events, and memorials are welcome alongside business websites. English and Spanish websites are available; a bilingual option adds $100 to the 3-page package. We’ll agree on the right scope for your project.

Will I be left on my own after I buy?

You can ask for friendly one-to-one guidance or small updates at $30 an hour, billed in 20-minute increments: $10 for 20 minutes. This is optional and separate from the included revision round and 14-day correction period for business site packages. We agree on the work and expected time before starting.

Let’s see what’s possible!

You bring the idea.
I’ll bring it to life.

Tell me a little about your business or your personal project. We’ll work out what’s needed, then I’ll bring it to life. You’ll see your website before you decide to buy.
