Hi, I’m Chris.
Let’s make
something yours.
A photographer’s eye, a maker’s curiosity, and decades of programming experience. At home in Panama since 2004.
Let’s get started
From photography to making things.
I’m Chris McCall. My working life began in photography and moved into motion pictures. Learning to see light, shape, and a story gave me a foundation I still draw on when I design a website.
In Denver, Colorado, that curiosity took me into stained glass, teaching, and design. I founded The Stained Glass School and Supply and created Denver Glass Machinery, bringing the creative and practical sides of making things together.
A programmer since the 1980s.
In the 1980s, I taught myself to program. I went on to write software used by 350 health clinics across the United States and built many websites along the way.
Software has to work for the people using it. That has stayed with me through decades of computer work: understand the job, make the important things easy, and help people feel comfortable with the tools.
Panama has been home since 2004.
After moving to Panama in 2004, I designed and built Rancho de Caldera in the Boquete area. It was another way to turn an idea into something real, combining design with the practical work of building.
At Black Rock Art Ranch in Caldera, I’ve continued making, experimenting, and teaching. A camera, a piece of glass, a building, or a website may call for different tools, but I’ve always enjoyed working out how to make an idea work.
Experience works for you.
Today, Black Rock Web Design brings together my eye for design, years of business experience, and a long history with computers. I personally shape and check the result.
You don’t need a polished brief. Tell me what matters to you, share the material you have, and we can build from there. You’ll see your own site before you decide to buy, and it will be yours after purchase.
Let’s communicate in a way that works.
Languages have always taken extra effort for me, including English. My spoken Spanish is limited. Written messages give us time to explain things clearly and check the details.
If you don’t speak English, WhatsApp is the best way to work with me. We can use translation, share photos and ideas, and work through your project at a comfortable pace.
